dtstiachi Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I don't know. That was just weird. Further study is needed before an actual intelligent hypothesis is formulated. "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
tangsoodo Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I find it doubtful. That being said, you can conciously change the body temperature in your extremities by a few degrees if you know how.how? Tang Soo!
lordtariel Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 People call it moving your energy through your body, but in actuallity, what you're doing is conciously increasing the blood flow to their extremities which causes the temperature increase. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Ace2021 Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 "People call it moving your energy through your body, but in actuallity, what you're doing is conciously increasing the blood flow to their extremities which causes the temperature increase."Even if it is that, don't you think it'd be impossible to catch something on fire if your hand was just a little "warmer" than usual? Why can't they let a certified scientist analyze this guy...or something official. A New Age Dawns
lordtariel Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I don't think you could be able to actually start a fire. I do remember seeing a show about these tibetan monks I believe that went and stayed out in the mountains with nothing but the robes they normally wear. A group of scientists actually hooked up some life support equipment to monitor them and they survived extreme temperatures all night. They said they were able to stay warm by focusing their ki. infinafta Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 That video is from the Ring Of fire documentary. The man is John Chang of the Mo Pai.http://www.mysticfire.com/index.html?cart=1151547913250888http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000I1TH/103-2703540-1371800?v=glance&n=404272It was filmed in the 70s in Indonesia, before any "special effects". Its real. You can read about it in this book, written by a martial artist who went and found John Chang in Indonesia and became his student.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0892818131/103-2703540-1371800?v=glance&n=283155
