Dixon Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 I just finished watching a documentary on the history channel called "spontaneous human combustion" blah blah people combust. Then they get to this idea of this eastern concept of chi and while filming a documentary in Vevi(sp? ) they met a master accupuncturist who could shock the heck out of you with a touch. Ok, neat. They then go to this guy, hes wearing short sleeves and this probably happen mid 80's, he seperates a newspaper, wads up a single sheet and then kneels over it. He puts his hand to it, does kind of power power breath and then his hand starts shaking and 2 seconds later the newspaper catches on fire. I Dvr'ed this so it is likely that it will be on again. Its at minute 55-57 of the one hour show on the history channel called spontaneous human combustion. This is the closest thing to magic that i have ever seen.
chiflow Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Wow, thats pretty cool I dont think i have ever heard of any setting anything on fire with Chi. I have heard of people being able to knock out a candle flame, but have yet to see anyone do it in person.. Do you know the name of the person who set the paper on fire? Its all about the Chiflow
greenbelt_girl15 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I don't think I've ever heared of such a thing! God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit of power, and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:7
chiflow Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 greenbelt_girl15Nice!!! That has always been my favorite Bible verseMany times in my past people fellow christians have said ill things about my devotion to martial arts.. TigerDude Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 It's just a magician's trick.Really. If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him. You must thoroughly research this. - Musashi
Dixon Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 I watched the video a few times. No mention of his name. Just "A notible accupuncturist".I understand the skepticism. But look for the history channel show mentioned above. You'll believe.

Dixon Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 Good job Sohan. That is a longer version of what I saw. I'm a little suprised more people aren't talking about this guy/clip/ability.

I'm a little suprised more people aren't talking about this guy/clip/ability.In today's age of Photoshop and CGI, it's difficult to convince anyone of anything anymore. However, after repeated viewings, I think that things perhaps may not be what they seem here. It wouldn't be the first "qi" trickery I've seen before. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." lordtariel Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I find it doubtful. That being said, you can conciously change the body temperature in your extremities by a few degrees if you know how. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
