How come spin kick is not an option in the poll?

I originally had spin kicks and jump kicks, but the poll only allows me so many selections. I chose kicks that are represented in most martial arts (except for teeps). Plus, spin kicks are usually spinning versions of the mentioned kicks.

I love to practice hook kicks, but I tend to favor roundhouse when fighting.

I enjoy hook kicks, because my opponent is never ready for them. Always takes them by surprise.

An aspiring young man at our school has perfected a beautiful hook kick over the top of his opponents head making it look like a miss, and then comes back to the head with a roundhouse. Gets his opponents everytime.

I used to be able to do that when I was 16. Great to hear that there are still some great kickers coming up through the ranks.

I love the hook kick. It's never expected and great to see the look on your opponents face when executed well. Since we don't practice it in Shorin-ryu, and I learned it in my Korean MA training, it is fun to use in class. I get asked often how to perform it.

For self defense, my Thai Roundhouse is definentally bread and butter with my side kick also being extremely good.

For sparring, I agree with that sneaky hook kick to the back of the opponents head. I especially love to do it to new black belts. I will pummel them with side kicks, then let them think they've beaten it, and hit em with the hook. When they start to worry about the legs too much, they get the reverse punch. Wow...it brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it  :D It's just my way of keeping them humble. I remember when my Sensei did the same to me :)
