Midkiff Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 i always listen to Underoath or something really fast while i'm sparring, and something smooth and tranquil while doing kata, like uhh.. i just listen to more Underoath. I'm one of the few people i know who trains while listening to music with words. Is that weird. To each his own I guess. Shindo Jinen Ryu Ryobu Kai-Second Degree Brown Belt
patusai Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I don't listen to music when training. I might be missing something. Maybe I'll try and see what happens "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
marie curie Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I like 80's training montage music! You suck-train harder.......................Don't block with your faceA good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving. -Lao Tzu
Sohan Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 No music during traditional MA training, but I like hard rock during boxing. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Zen Master Nakahara Nantenbo"A man who has attained mastery of an art reveals it in his every action." Samuarai maxim"Knowing others is wisdom; knowing yourself is Enlightenment." Lao-Tzu
MizuRyu Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I don't listen to music while training in MA.. but when I'm doing bagwork and conditioning I crank some heavy stuff or bassy stuff usually. My typical play list is Tool, Korn, Mudvayne, Metallica, Chimaira, Nevermore, Necrophagist.. etc... Chris Chen Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 When sparring i mostly listen to stuff like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath "Violent action may be understood as the way of Martial Arts, but the true meaning of the Martial Arts is to seek and attain the Way of Peace and Harmony." Master Hironori Otsuka"He who stretches beyond his natural reach, does not stand firmly upon the ground; just as he who travels at a speed beyond his means, cannot maintain his pace." Lao Tzu
