We just want this court to be bound to be fair to defendants. These would not be special privileges for Americans, but protections for the soldiers of any nation.

An international court run by a corrupt and biased organization has no standing. The bottom line is that the U.N. is hopelessly mired in the agenda of a few nations. Syria is on the Security Council, for Pete's sake, and you want us to trust a court created by the same org? Forget it.

As for the Geneva Convention, I'd like to see where in the Geneva Convention it requires that the international court be set up the same as the proposed ICC. I don't believe that for a second.

Let me check on that, come to think of it; the U.S. may not even be a signatory to the Geneva Convention. I know there was one we didn't sign, and it was either the GC or the Hague Accords. The more I think about it, the less it matters, because I think it was the Hague Accords that we didn't sign.

I think there is a certain gung-ho attitude in the US military. Occassionally they do not seem very disciplined. (sorry but I've done exercises with them when I was in the British Army - just an observation!)

yea those were some pretty serious charges too, I believe they were charged with unintentional manslaughter, and in my opinion I believe they deserve their charges.

Hey crap happens in War. Even in training for war people are killed. If an American killed someone in a car accident in some foriegn contries it would make headlines because of the hatred for us. America needs to educate the people. Most leaders of the Middle East preech hate America. Most Middle Eastern people probably would not hate us near as much if they were educated in what America was really like.

America does have its faults but generally the people are good. The politicians may not all be good but the people are. No religion preeches to kill. If you look at it closely then if someone swears in the name of the Koran and says it said it was okay then that is a bunch of crap.

Religion that teaches the eye for an eye concept should expect payback if they kill someone. It is in there religion.

America gets more press for the bad stuff that happens than the good stuff they do. That isnt really fair but that is how things go. America is a great place and Im sure other regions of the world are too. Crap happens and it always will.

crap does happen..but when one nation is constantly responsible you would think that they would try to figure out why?

check out the stats on soldiers who died in vietnam due to friendly fire..check out desert storm....and then check out afghan...the pilots who dropped the bomb on the canadian soldiers are being charged and hope it shows the american military that they need to be more careful

it is tough being the worlds biggest dog but saying crap happens does not forgive the killing of friendlies

Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever

I don't know the numbers at all, but how many American soldiers were in Nam/Storm/Afghan compared the to the number of soldiers from other countries? If there were more Americans there statistically I imagine if someone were going to screw up it would probably be an American.
