ramcalgary Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 there was a saying during the second world war When the british fly over and shoot the germans duck when the germans fly over the british duck when the americans fly over everybody ducks kind of sad that that saying still rings true to my lost friend and fellow princess patricias who died in afghanistan you died heroes i will not forget Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever
ZR440 Posted April 22, 2002 Posted April 22, 2002 I can only imagine the resentment against us because of that unfortunate accident. Sorry for your loss. It's perplexing that even with all the high-tech communications something like this can still happen. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
KickChick Posted April 22, 2002 Posted April 22, 2002 It will be easy to determine the cause. On the navigation maps it will either clearly show no fly zone which means the pilot is an idiot and didn't bother to navigate properly or the maps did not show the no fly zone and the whoever updates the maps is the cause. It should be very easy to determine whose fault it is. Air traffic control when he contacted them should of had his coordinates and known he was in a no fly zone unless the Canadians didn't tell them that was the designated training area. We'll have to wait and see. _________________ KarateForums Sensei 1st dan Black Tae Kwon Do CardioKickboxing/Fitness Inst. [ This Message was edited by: KickChick on 2002-04-22 14:40 ]
Phantasmatic Posted April 22, 2002 Posted April 22, 2002 Wow, i never heard of that happening, I hope my mom doesn't hear about it, she is really scared about my cousin because he's in the marines. "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
ramcalgary Posted April 22, 2002 Author Posted April 22, 2002 FYI the Canadian were in an area that was constantly used for live fire training. This was a horrible accident that could have been prevented. Although I am angry at the loss of a friend there is a saying in the military take the cheque take the risk. All soldiers know the risks involved when they are in a war zone but it sure would be nice to know that the US will finally learn a lesson and start being more careful. Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever
Prodigy-Child Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 you know our canadian government is taking this whole thing quite lightly say a canadian pilot flew over american troops and accidentally killed him with a bomb.......the U.S. wouldnt let us off so easy as did we did with the U.S. kinda double standard here....... You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
Phantasmatic Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 That is very likely Prodigy, but you must know that politics is politics. You and I both know down deep that they are rather angry! Who wouldn't be. "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
kicker Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 Well It is something that is bad that has happened. But countrys need to be more careful and not to make accidental mistakes. when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
Deathcometh Posted May 2, 2002 Posted May 2, 2002 Thats sad because think about all the advanced weapons we have and they still hit are own people.
