elbows_and_knees
grappling is grappling. There are some different techniques, but regardless, they need to get into clinch range to be effective. Work keeping them away from you, using long weapons like the jab and lead front kick. If they manage to achieve a clinch, you need to be well versed enough there that you can break the clinch before they take you down. If they shoot low, sprawl. It's much harder than it sounds though. If he's determined he's gonna clinch with you, then there is a very high chance that he will do it.

isshinryu5toforever
It's true they have to be in clinch range, but many are affective at shooting. If you want to stay on your feet you better hit them really, really hard and very accurately when they go for the shoot or control. He who knows others is wise. elbows_and_knees
sprawl first. then strike. To try and strike before he shoots is setting yourself up for failure. you may pull it off, but even if you do, it may not be hard enough to stop his shot. If not, you're still going down. MizuRyu
I've been in a pretty serious school scuffle with a wrestler.. he shot right into a knee, I knocked him real good but on his way to the floor he grabbed my leg and twisted me to the ground, I immediatly got up and ran lol. I think the best policy is to hit them as hard as physically possible at the most opportune time. When they shoot meet their head/face with your knee. If they get a mount, keep yourself as closed up as possible and use the ground as a backing to deliver pheonix eye strikes to the middle/front ribs/ribtips. Do as much damage as possible essentially. If they're a great grappler however.. you may be in for one heck of a ride. LiTtLeDrAgOn
Hm...Be very careful when fighting against a wrestler or immataor. If u havent had any experience in wrestling you could be in for it if they get in close on you and get ahold of you. Use the jab or roundhouse kick. (long weapons). Wrestlers usually have a lower stance so it might not be smart to use low kicks because they could grab the easily and swoop you up. My advice would be to get in and get out. bushido_man96
Use fast, snapping techniques if you choose to kick. Don't leave anything out there for them to grab. Kicking high may induce them to shoot and take you down. Not a good idea either. If they shoot, try to side step and land some punches. And like elbows_and_knees said, sprawl. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

lordtariel
Trying not to sound stupid, but what do you mean by sprawling? Like sprawl out on the ground? There's no place like 127.0.0.
