Sohan Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I love doing the sweep where I catch or trap their foot at my side when they kick, then sweep the other leg inward, following them down with a downward punch. I originally learned to sweep in Muay Thai and this is one of my favorite moves. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Killer Miller Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I usually catch them when they are attacking and just as they start to plant, sweep and counter at the same time.- Killer -I never just execute a sweep. I always execute a counter strike to get them off balance, then sweep. Using them almost simultaneously is even more effective. KarateK Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 We never sweep - sometimes I feel like I am missing out on a worthwhile skill. In sparring we are only alowed to kick above the belt. We practice ashi bari and mawashegeri to the knee against a pad but thats as far as we go. Karate Ni Sentinashi
