Martial Arts Cults

Recommended Posts

Here is a very long, but interesting article from No Nonsense Self-Defense out of Colorado. I specifically noted the differentation between "legally defined self-defense" and what some martial artists teach as self-defense techniques. It would beinteresting to do a state-by-state research project.

I also got a little piqued by his reference to Bunkai as being a cult tactic... anything can be abused, but he didn't specify that Bunkai has it's legitimate uses. A non-martial artist wouldn't know the difference based solely on this article.

I've seen his site before. He makes some very good points, but his ego overshadows his writing. Seems a little paranoid, if you ask me.

I tend to agree with Sohan the author seems opinionated, and the content seems almos derivative.

I made a post in the chinese MA section...

A friend of mine is in a Pseudo pa kua cult...he is all the day inside the damn building , and pays a lot of money...and they wash his brain with fake meditation (very common in cults , kind of mental control)
