Charlie Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 A member named "Feels" posted, several months ago, a good clip showing Kyokushin tournament knock-outs. That post is probably still on this forum somewhere if you'd like to search for it.Here's some other good sites for Kyokushin info:http://www.australiankyokushin.com/This site has good info on notable Kyokushin practitioners. The Wikipedia entry for Kyokushin still needs some work but it does have some information and links to other good sources of info:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KyokushinSome entries on Wikipedia for notable current or former Kyokushin practitioners:Mas Oyama (founder of Kyokushin): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mas_OyamaBas Rutten: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bas_RuttenKatsuaki Sato: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katsuaki_SatoMiyuki Miura: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyuki_MiuraHideyuki Ashihara: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hideyuki_AshiharaJoko Ninomiya: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joko_Ninomiya
Eugeu_Ryu_Stylist Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Yoshiji Soeno, nicknamed "the Tiger of Kyokushin", and founder of Shidokan Karate. In the 1970s, Soeno was the only warrior with the courage to challenge Reiba, the strongest Thai kickboxer in the world, and dubbed the "Dark Lord of Muay Thai."
Osu No Seichin Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 The biggest difference between Kyokushin and other styles of Karate? Circular motion. Most other Karate Styles are very linear in their movements and techniques, in Kyokushin we are very circular in our movements and techniques. By the way where are you located LoveKarate.
