dbalsdon Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Are there any decent websites which have diagrams of nunchaku katas.
YODA Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I was once told by a fairly qualified source (Kanazawa Sensei) that there are no traditional Kata for the Nunchaku - only modern ones that have been made up with little basis in combat effectivenes. this being the case - why not make up your own? YODA Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Maybe so Ad - but bet they've been put together recently. I could knock up a Kata for chucks in a couple of hours or so - people do it all the time for freestyle forms competitions. YODA Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Actually - the reason I asked Kanazawa Sensei was that there are 2 Nunchaku kata in his book - "Dynamic Nunchaku" and I was interested in their history! They are called Bu Ho No Kata Shodan (which would suggest that there are more) and Ju Ho No Kata - I wonder if HE compiled them?
