bushido_man96 Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Oh, he's certainly beatable. He's probaly not even top 10 in pride, and the UFC's top heavyweights would probably be able to take him. But (excluding weapons) unless we have a load of UFC and Pride fighters lurking the boards, I feel pretty safe saying no one here could take Sapp. Seriously, do you think he would care if you kicked him in the knee or bit him? He'd swat you away like a fly.I would like to see him in the UFC. I think he would make some noise. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

Dragn Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Sap certainly is very big and very strong. But his skills are pretty poor. His stamina is terrible, and he lacks fighting spirit.Still he did take out Ernst Hoost, 4 times K1 champ. That shows how far size and power can go.Then Cro cop took him out with a right hand that ruptured his retina. I've been watching his fights for years though, and I'm pretty tired of these big guys with mediocre skills that K1 brings in for spectacle value.I wish he would go to the UFC!You gotta hand it to him though, he really made a fortune here. UseoForce Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I don't think UFC rules allow for huge weight differences. Unless they found someone near Sapp's size to put him up against, I don't think he can fight in the UFC. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!

He'd swat you away like a fly.So true- even if you tried to reach up to gouge his eyes, he might just tear your arm off and beat you to death with it.Bob Sapp is a perfect example of why martial arts were created, and heres the answer no one likes to hear- you simply have to wait until he gets tired, which means you'll have to wither the initial storm of his attacks. When hes fresh, hes going to walk through anyone's punches and kicks, afterwhich hes going to grab you and throw you to the ground. If you can survive long enough, then you'll be able regain your feet or get a superior position on him as he gases and starts to lose some of his strength.Although, making strategies is the is the easy part- making them work is another thing altogether.
ps1 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I guess if I had to fight him in the ring my strategy would be to take him down and attempt to submit...DO NOT LET HIM GET ON TOP!!!In the street, I run as though my life depends on it...because it probably does. UseoForce Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Sorry, I'm not even going to pretend I have a strategy against Sapp in the ring/cage. In the street, well, there are so many variables. Maybe I have a weapon. Maybe he does. Maybe he brought buddies. Maybe I brought an army... If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
Sohan Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I love this video of Sapp and Tyson trash talking each other. Very entertaining.http://youtube.com/watch?v=H-B7qXIzolE&search=mike%20tysonWith respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Sohan Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 And here's the Kimo fight that it occurred. For anyone who thinks Bob Sapp is a great fighter, watch this:http://youtube.com/watch?v=S4bhx3uiEFM&search=bob%20sappBig man he is, Sapp is merely an NFL steroid bustee who washed out and turned to fighting. His fights are an embarrassment because his skills are nothing more than wild pushing and swinging contests, not to mention his dirty tactics. Get him in drug-tested legitimate competition against a skilled MMA fighter (not Kimo, who despite his appearance is a lousy fighter) and Sapp is toast. I mean, he's sucking wind after less than a minute. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth."
