younwhadoug Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 well..... i didn't place this time. i don't like it much but i will take this defeat with the attitude of "ok what can i learn from this and what wasn't i doing that i know i could have?". its always humbling to lose, but on the brighter side my wife placed first in forms and my two sons won second and third in sparring each. my students did really well and were noticed by the masters present. so i really can't complain about much. oh yeah, that guy was not at the tournement so i was worrying about it for nothing. be polite, be patient, be alert, be brave, do your best, respect yourself and others. Sohan Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 It must be wonderful to be able to compete in a tournament with your children. Sorry to hear things didn't work the way you wanted, but it sounds like it was a positive experience. Better luck in the next one. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." jaymac Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 You always come away from tournaments with more experience and an opportunity to return and perform even better. What is more impressive is that you have your whole family doing Martial Arts together. What an achievement! That is awesome. Congratulations to you, your wife, and your children! A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
