Alucard
Is there such a thing as people who are naturally adept to martial arts and chi?? "The First step to knowing everything, is to first acknowledge that you know nothing."
Sohan
Is there such a thing as people who are naturally adept to martial arts and chi??Sure, just as there are people who can do complex math problems in their heads, whip up a gourmet meal with spaghetti O's and pancake syrup, or dunk a basketball while blindfolded. We all have our talents, but it is up to us to apply ourselves to reach our potential. Sometimes those who reach the top aren't always the ones who can leap the highest but those who never stop focusing on reaching the summit.Or something to that effect.Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Whitefeather
People are given gifts of natural aptitude for all sorts of things (ie math, writing, karate, running, etcetera). But, without work, those gifts are nothing. It is dedication and effort that will take you places, not whatever gift you have. Never let anyone (and that includes you) convince you that you cannot achieve excellence because you do not have the "Gift" for whatever it is that you love.David "Between genius and insanity, there lies a fine line. greenbelt_girl15
I definatly think that there are those with natural talent, and you do have to work hard to develop the gifts that you have. But I also think that you can usually tell those who have a natural apitude towards martial arts or whatever from those who have techniqual skill. At least this is my experience in music. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit of power, and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:
dtstiachi
yes, absolutely. This should not however discourage anyone for with hard work and determination (a good teacher will always help to) you can achieve whatever goal you desire. Shui Tora
Without focusing on what your target, then you can say that you do not have talent. There are people in the world that can do complex algorithims (and other stuff!) in their heads without having to apply themselves; and i think that those people are the ones that don't have talent.Talent is something that you are not only good at, but you stirve to learn more about; not just knowing that you have the talent and doing nothing about it."To seek over the mountain is when you understand, not just standing at the top."
