MizuRyu Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 It really was sad to watch. Royce's age really shows throughout the entire 'fight'. I really do give him some major kudos for refusing to submit, inverted elbow or not. Hat's off to Mr. Gracie but I believe his card should be punched. What do you all think?6 years difference is not a big deal.I think Gracie got 1.5 million for that fight. (If I am wrong please let us know the correct amount he got)He walked in, fell down, got his money, and left. That fight definitely hurt the Gracie Family reputation.Hughes is an awesome fighter and would have won anyways, but Gracie should have put up a better fight. at least go 1 full round.Did Gracie's elbow break, I say no, but others are saying its broken. Kajukenbopr Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 how could gracie knowing that hughes is Big, he is in great shape- wouldnt it have been better to put some more muscle? make it better for his ability to take hits and not be pinned down? <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty

I definitely notice a difference, though it is slight, and that small difference would be HUGE in an elite-caliber bout. But I do agree that the Gracies are smarting after that one. It's not about the money, it's the pride. My wife and I live and work with Brazilians here in Atlanta, and they are an extremely prideful and passionate people. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Doublelegtakedown Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 yeah my dad sad at 38 his metabolism slowed down and he started losing muscle. so 6 years is a gap.

And when i watched him training and working out royce was lifting weights in circuits and was training hard but it might be hard for him to put muscle on considering he is not young anymore.
