Jeet Kune Do Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I have a question, does practicing with Nunchaku affect you mentally, because ever since I had them (3 weeks ago) I practiced with them everyday and now I do Very well at school and I am more active and have quicker reactions and train harder. A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
patusai Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 As for improving your mental ability I don't know. Maybe. I do know if you hit yourself in the head with them enough or hard enough it will adversely effect your mental ability "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
granmasterchen Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 yep, either you hit yourself enough (lightly) that you learn to stop doing that move incorrectly or you hit yourself hard enough and lose the memory, and continue the path over and over and over....continually knocking yourself silly and getting dumber.... That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
Jeet Kune Do Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 I dont see how you can hit your head or your groin A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
NeoDanteX Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I rarely hit myself in the head, but as for my groin thats a another story. But you can if your just arent paying attention to what you doin. My advice to everyone when your done practicing you Kata I suggest you drop the Nunchaku.

I think this is more to do with a advancement in your training, the weapon may have sparked that interest and the training became more rewarding. lordtariel Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Using a weapon like that requires a lot of discipline. That discipline translates into all parts of your life, not just martial skill. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Jeet Kune Do Posted April 5, 2006 Author Posted April 5, 2006 The last 2 answer's were really good, thanks A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
ki master Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 It probably is just very fun and you are enjoing it while training "Now the valiant can fight; the cautious can defend, and the wise counsel. Thus there is none whose talent is wasted."-Li Ch'uan-
Ace2021 Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 I can understand it improving your reaction times, but intelligence...hmm. A New Age Dawns
