marie curie Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Lurk for a while- you'll run into things that you feel you can talk about Check out the General chat areas and humor and games! lordtariel Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 It's not a big deal. Check the posts and chime in with your opinion if it's relevant. Check the forum for a question you have. If it hasn't been discussed, ask. The people on this forum are much friendlier and more respectful than some of the others forums I've been to. There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Spirit At Choice Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Great advice! Lurking is definitely the way to go. Sometimes I find a LOT I want to discuss, and other times I just read and learn.Definitely search on topics before you post a new item. Uniform care, belt mythology and other topics have been done to death, so there's already REALLY good information on them in older posts.Glad to have you! White belt mind. Black belt heart....Rejoice and be glad!
ramymensa Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I was also a noob once (can't say I'm such an expert now either ), but there are lots of topics you can contribute. where you can tell us how things are in your MA class, describe the way you train and so on. Just relax and look at the topics. You'll find some topics you can really contribute, not to mention that only by being a member here you are already contributing to the community World Shotokan Karate
Sohan Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I lurked for a long, long time before I decided to contribute. This is a marvelous site filled with intelligent, thoughtful martial artists. Unlike some sites that can be populated by mean-spirited esteem-challenged creeps who get their kicks flaming other posters, the participants on this board seem to truly respect others opinions, and disagree without needless inflammatory rhetoric. I give credit to the admin, because without strong moderators, a board's personality can change for the worse.Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." HumanTyphoon Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 It's okay, I'm a noob too! If you take a crooked path and have to go through a cliff. Either hope there is a bridge, or learn to fly.
