Sparring with traditional weapons?

Recommended Posts

I want to get in on some weapons sparring...I pretty much own anybody at our dojo when we mess around. I use a pair of escrima sticks to simulate double dao, but nobody really knows how to do anything other than me or my instructor.

I've gone at it with shinai, no pads or protective gear. Got my ear swollen for a weekend.

Shinai are good for learning Happo (eight way steps, bit like a compass) they're also good for trying out different combos...

I use them just for stress relief! :D And trying out different moves!
