UseoForce
I think an important component of any stance is how well it translates into weapons use. My stance, for example, is almost the same whether I am empty handed or shooting a pistol or wielding a knife. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out! elbows_and_knees
When in a confrontation I use 'The Fence' (Geoff Thompson) and from then on I'm either walking away, attacking or covering, in which case I'd use 'The Crazy Monkey' cover (Rodney 'Chico' King).DCMS.you train with straight blast gym? battousai16
i don't really think your stance really matters so long as A) you're properly guarded B) you're relaxed and C) you can effectively transition into your basic stances when need be. aside from that, you can probably position yourself wherever and however you want. from the sound of it, i wouldn't call you wrong. cross
I use the boxing guard when sparring etc. For self defence the only difference would be the hands are open and moving a little more(while i talk) in a "non-threatening" manner i.e. the fence.
