Jay
When i am sparring or fighting people i seem to struggle and i just kind of forget everything that i have been taught. The thing is my knowledge of the martial arts are very good and i have many tactics and stratergies in my locker to use. The problem is is that i just 'dont'. I seem to stuggle mainly against bigger opponents as i am only about 5"6 and weight about 63kg dunno what that is in pounds i think its like 120 or something. Most people that i face even with little or no training seem to beat me just because they are bigger. Not being big headed i would say that i am faster and know more than them i just dont use it. im kinda at a loss i lose too much. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline. pineapple
Ask one of the advanced "small" guys to give you some strategies for sparring. Having someone who is in the same boat as you and has gone through the ropes will have better strategies for you than the bigger guys who don't have to deal with the same problem.I am not a tall person and I personally like to stay outside of a big guy's reach untill I see an opening, then get in really close to nullify their power. I know its sounds corny, but youll develop a clear mind, and then you can really learn these little things, until then, I suggest more practice in overall.I often reflect on what Master Funakoshi once said..." dont think you have to win, but think you dont have to lose".I used to have this problem with large opponents, now no matter who it is in regards to body type, it really doesn't matter. Zaine
Its like The Last Samurai put it. To many minds. Your thinking to much. Let your body do 95% of the thinking, and your mind 5% Your body acts faster than the mind and if you clear your head your body should take over. Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
