parkerlineage
Most definitely. My brown belt had frayed a little bit, because I had it for about three years (we have three levels of brown); you'll see some wear, soon. parkerlineage
Well, you must live in a containment lab and tie your belt with rubber gloves, very carefully. That's actually kinda strange... bushido_man96
My black belt is starting to wear a little around the area of the knot, but that is all.I will probably end up with a new one within a year, so it won't wear much more. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

AngelaG
That's kinda weird for me, but it might just be because I've never kept the same belt for more than 8 months, but I've never really noticed fraying. plenty of loss of colour, but no frays. but I don't get my blackbelt till this December (hopefully!). Maybe it will happen a bit thenMost coloured belts tend to be just the dyed inner core though, whereas the better quality black belts are usually cotton, satin or silk stitched over the white inner core. RichardHangHong
I don't think coloured belts have a white core. I've seen students over the years who've had their coloured belt for a long time and it's gotten a lot of wear. I doubt you'll ever see a frayed coloured belt. Although I think Tokaido do coloured belts (for tournaments i guess) so they might have a white core. RichardHangHong
My sensei had his black belt for a good 15yrs or so. We finally got him a new belt last month and presented it to him at the last black belt grading.
