Aikido is a really internal art. I've never taken it, but I researched alot and own a few books on it. It has an interesting philosophy because it's purpose in combat is to merely pacify assilants, because ethically "It is wrong to hurt people even in ones own defense" (As it says in the book I have). Like most Internal Arts, it takes quite a long time to make it street effective, but you should check it out It's a really unique and impressive art, you may like it.

if you want internal martial arts search for Chinese Internal Arts:

Qi Qong, Tai chi, Xing Yi, Pakua.

You may want to consider purchasing a book on this topic of Japanese internal arts. "Ki and the way of the martial arts" by Kenji Tokitsu is very informative.

I have begun some training outlined in that book, yes. It is taught along with the physical training you undertake. However it is extremely difficult to do it from a book. I am going to search for someone who can provide guidance.

Reiki

2 things:

#1.reiki is not your own internal energy, so , train all you want, it wont be stronger.

#2. other than its healing side, and the better flow of energy through ur body, it doesnt really help much as complimentary for martial arts.

now, mix any martial art with qiqong, and then some reiki and you have a developed qiqong prowess
