mik
A recently saw some guys do butterflt twists in their Katas...Then i was told they copied this technique from wushu...Then again somebody told me this was from capoeira and at the end somebody came up with ice dancing....Where is this move from and are there any differences between wushu and karate butterfly twists....IF u dont know what im talking about.... watch thishttp://www.martinvidic.com/martinvidic_en_2006/flash_mavi/wushu_butterfly_twist_-_XZZT.htm
red dawn
I'm no MA expert, but I think the butterfly twists are originally from wushu, but that doesn't mean other arts haven't developed their own version of the butterfly. I never said it wasn't dangerous.
marie curie
Capoira is very acrobatic, so maybe that developed a simialr motion You suck-train harder.......................Don't block with your faceA good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving. -Lao Tzu
Dragn
Butterfly twists are from wushu. Capoeira has awsome arials but the butterfly is not from capoeira. Ice scating also has butterflys but without the twist. And I'm pretty sure this was inspired by wushu performances.Karateka who do butterfly twists are combining karate with wushu and acrobatics. I wish they'd call it performance MA and not karate. "Today is a good day to die"Live each day as if it were your last
