Dont worry about what other think of you, as long as you work hard and give it a 110% (and then some) you do fine and will eventually earn their respect.

Maybe they are not living by the same 6 training principles that you are and that makes you the better martial artist regardless of your rank

I say train for yourself...its your journey not theirs.

Such is the way of the world in martial arts or outside of it. No matter who you are, no matter what you do, some people will like you, some won't. Some will respect you and some won't.

There are different types of personalities but you normally get an idea of who they are, some genuine, some determined to put you down, some determined to make themselves look good, etc.

I would be surprised if anyone could say that they were liked and respected by everyone (instructors/teachers are a separate issue).

As the other posts have stated, the most important thing is to train for yourself. You get what you put into it.

When I'm not having a good time, I remind myself that I am not training for other people (although it is nice to train with them), I am training for my own personal reasons.

I agree keep working hard and keep your head up. Some don't respect the lower ranks because some forget they were once there. In my opinion alot of it is ego that is not needed. Ego in my opinion as no place in a dojo or dojang.
