Bon Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Bishop, yeah I didn't like the page much 'cause it has 'enrol now!' & one of the comments mentions someone losing 40lbs, so they're trying to appeal emotively to a lot of people. I dunno, it would depend on the prices I guess. I didn't see a link to how much prices were on the site. jiu jitsu deals with taking your opponent to the ground & finishing them there using chokes & locks. You realise that don't you ? Dojo is the right term for jiu jitsu, dojo stands for dojang. The most important thing I believe you should look for in a dojo is students who are proficient. The students reflect the quality of the dojo and instructor. Also, an atmospwhere where the students help each other, i.e, no competition. A little friendly compeition is healthy, but not students who won't teach techniques to others, etc.. Instructors, IMO, should be a friend as well, not just an instructor for a set time & that's it. You need to be able to trust them & ask questions. 'cry in the dojo, laugh on the battlefield' I agree pretty much with what you said, but I'd word it differently. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
