ravenzoom
I never see anything written about Yoseikan Karate. Does anyone here practice it and can explain what it is? Is it street effective? For those who don't know about the style you can briefly read about it here: http://www.lyon-karate.com/list_martial_arts.php Thanks in advance for your output. ravenzoom
Do you think it's good for self-defense from what you've heard of it?
Brandon Fisher
Do you think it's good for self-defense from what you've heard of it?I don't know enough to say yes or no on it. Keep in mind most all forms of martial arts are good unless they are bogus by people just making up crazy stuff. UseoForce
What makes a martial art good for self defense is the training methods. Techniques, as Jigoro Kano, the Gracies, and a slew of other proved, are almost irrelevant. Look at Dan Severn: UFC champ with no training other than wrestling. Wrestling's techniques could hardly be described as "devastating" or "deadly," but its rigorous training methods enabled Mr. Severn to defeat foes from all backgrounds (including karate) If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
