Kempo/kenpo are more of a translation issue when it comes to the Hawaiin based arts. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Red J Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Kempo/kenpo is simular to the color vs. colour debate. Many organizations have gone between the two names within the last 35 years or so. Now if you ask someone from the actual styles, you will get a more style specific response based on the type of material taught.http://www.urbin.net/EWW/MA/KF/3D.html#DifferThis is a good place to start. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

Jiffy Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 First time I've come across it being called Kenpo, I've always heard of it as Kendo The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Anbu Alex Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Kendo is a sport not real swordsmanship Kenpo was the earliest name for Kenjutsu they changed the name later on much later on White belt for life"Destroy the enemies power but leave his life"
