I go so dummy with a Chinese broad sword. The one thing i don't like about is its range. Only a really skilled swords MA can defeat a spear fighter. Otherwise, the spear guy will scrape the sword guy.

Knives. I like weapons that are practical, easy to use, and effective. Though my sais always get attention when I pull them out of their case.

I like the two handed weapons...Bo, Nunte-bo, and Eku.

Those are probably my favorites, though we also train in Sai, Tekko, Kamas, Jo etc...

i like the straight sword, the broad sword, the spear, and the staff.

First courage, second power, and then technique.

maybe - it's like fighting an unarmed person with long reach - you have to be able to use your footwork to get inside of him. If you can close distance, you'll have a much easier time. Of course, that's easier said than doine, but it gives you an idea what to work on.

In my kali days, we trained in this manner. knife vs single and double stick - reach disadvantage, especially if you have an earth grip on the knife.

there is a system of kali that uses one long staff, as opposed to two the normal kali stick. Same thing applied here - footwork was key.
