ShadowFox Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Sword and bo staff "Martial Arts is kinda like yin and yang when you think about it; it 50% physical and 50% mental"
L0G1C Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I go so dummy with a Chinese broad sword. The one thing i don't like about is its range. Only a really skilled swords MA can defeat a spear fighter. Otherwise, the spear guy will scrape the sword guy. "See, this verse is blessed with this skill from a subject and verb specialist. My lyrics hit ya mental like a double reverse crescent kick.See, y'all can mention me as that emcee as 10th degree verbal black belt."
Sohan Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Knives. I like weapons that are practical, easy to use, and effective. Though my sais always get attention when I pull them out of their case. Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." lilkarate75 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 i like the straight sword, the broad sword, the spear, and the staff. First courage, second power, and then technique.

Only a really skilled swords MA can defeat a spear fighter. Otherwise, the spear guy will scrape the sword guy.maybe - it's like fighting an unarmed person with long reach - you have to be able to use your footwork to get inside of him. If you can close distance, you'll have a much easier time. Of course, that's easier said than doine, but it gives you an idea what to work on.In my kali days, we trained in this manner. knife vs single and double stick - reach disadvantage, especially if you have an earth grip on the knife.there is a system of kali that uses one long staff, as opposed to two the normal kali stick. Same thing applied here - footwork was key.
elbows_and_knees Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I noticed that only two of you picked a weapon that you can carry around with you...
