rabid hamster Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 Hiya, To those people that take Ju-jitsu, do you guys use weapons in the art? If so what are they? Cya Hiya It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
tigerstyle18 Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 I take a kung fu, jujitsu hybrid style which might explain why we do train in weapons. We teach nunchaku, sword, bo, sai, ext. I don't know about modern pure jujitsu schools teaching weapons. When two tigers fight, one dies and the other is mortally wounded.
Bon Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 Nope, not at my school. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
ZeRo Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 nope same here but once we used kinda stick things?? we were only doin a cordination excersize though.
Prodigy-Child Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 we have learned some stick fighting and knife fighting as well as defending from weapons...but jiu jitsu that i learn is mostly un armed combat You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
Hapkido-Cougar Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 I use weapons. I go to Hapkido, i take weapons. like Small sticks, i dont know what you call that in english.... I use to join to ju-jitsu, but i dont use weapons there yet... Cougar KENPO Green belt master
Kempo_Dude Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 I take Shorinji Kempo.. Im not really sure about the Uniform in Ju-jitsu. is it colored black the whole thing? Kempo dude says: Stand up show me what you got, im black belter in kempo, im a Kempo champ. lets see who will win!
ZeRo Posted June 5, 2002 Posted June 5, 2002 you wont use weapons in jujitsu because it was made to be used for unarmed defence and attack against armed people.
Withers M.A.A. Posted June 5, 2002 Posted June 5, 2002 I couldn't train in a system that didn't train with weapons unless it was a secondary system for me. 2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms. Firearms activist!
lister14 Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 not yet trained with anything apart from nunchaks (ouch...!) but in practise... anything can be a weapon! innit? "knowledge speaks, wisdom listens" (J. Hendrix)
