yes, I have studied iyeku, and the other 11 weapons of matayoshi kobudo, for quite some time, and aparently under the same head instructor as you, Sensei Yamashita... good to see another one of his students on here.

Ahh, eku bo, I wish that I knew how to use it. My instructor learned how last time he was in Okinawa, but wants to learn more before teaching others.

I practice the eku as well. I have been learning it through the Kobudo class I take from the local Shito ryu instructor. Neat weapon.

My instructor teaches it and I plan on learning as soon as I'm comfortable enough with the bo.

What wood was it made out of? My sensei's one is made out of ash and seems to be pretty tough.

at my school, black belts do a different weapon every semester, and that is what we are doing now and it is totally my favorite weapon ever!!!! And trust me, i've done a lot of different weapons
