The Ultimate Martial Art

Recommended Posts

I read in my sensei's martial arts mag that someone has claimed that he has come up with the Ultimate Martial Art. HOW IN THE WORLD! There cannot be an ultimate martial art! There is always going to be flaws in every martial art. IMHO There is no way that one person could come up with any martial art that would wipe out another one. It pretty much depends on the practitioner. If you have a 110 pound skinny judo/BJJ guy that doesnt try hard versus a 230 pound karate/JKD guy that works out every day. Who in the heck do ya think is gonna win? The skinny guy, fat chance!! I believe there is no way in the universe that someone could have come up with an ultimate martial art, but I do believe that you can make yourself become an ultimate martial artist. Opinions anyone?

Of course there is an ultimate martial art - it is, of course, unique for each of us. We must make it - JKD in a nutshell

All Martial Arts have their own "Doctrinal Core". For example, most Korean arts work from the doctine that the legs are more powerful and long than the arms, and with training can become faster, thus we see them using lots of kicks.

This leaves out lots of other stuff. Its the same with other arts: Judo lacks the required striking. One must Crosstrain to achieve proficiency in all ranges of combat...

I agree with ya, Phantasmatic. There isn't a ultimate martial art. There's only the ultimate martial artist. One who trains hard several times a week, and bust there butt to become good at their chosen art.
