jh5638
Heya guys just a quick question have been reading through a few posts and having quite a bit of difficulty with names of strikes. Can anyone explain (maybe people from the uk will understand where i'm coming from) what an X block is and a thrust kick etc are. theres loads i don't know. oo and also (showing a complete foolishness) what is a sucker punch hear so much about them but have never had the name associated to the movement! just a front snap punch? Many thanksJon Take life and live it
man thing
Haha, the language thing. An X-block is by crossing your arms, so they form an X. A lower X-block is kinda like 2 lower blocks at the same time. An upper X-block is kinda like 2 upper blocks at the same time. Not completely, but kinda. A thrust kick pushes. You load, then thrust with follow-through. A snap kick is different, like a roundhouse. A thrust kick makes all the force of contact go along your leg. And a sucker punch is just a term to describe a cheap-shot. Like a late hit.
Spirit At Choice
A sucker punch is often executed when fighter A pretends that he is going to walk away from a fight, then when fighter B has let his guard down (believing there will be no blows) fighter A hauls off and hits fighter B anyway. It is indeed a cheap-shot. White belt mind. Black belt heart....Rejoice and be glad!
stolen_bones
An X block? When I'm from, the double crossing upper block is known as a jackal block. But I can see why u call it an X Block though. lol Evade, Block, CounterIf it works, use it!
