foofies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC-bGwYjjlQI'm not good at analyzing videos, so I thought I share it with you and hear some comments.I came up with some of my own:1. If the TKD dude didnt miss the back kick, he would have a good chance to win the match. -- I learend form his back side that never do a technique in sparring or in the street that your not good at it --2. He was so cool and his ego made him lose.oh Can some one tell me why he was wearing a red belt apove his black belt ? HaKUnA MaTaTA

He had no balance, it was embarasing to watch. The Thai fighter wasn't even being agressive at all. Man no wonder TMA are constantly losing respect, martial artists who preform one simple kick and fall down.I dont mean to bash him but I wonder how he trained for that fight.P.S. I'm aware that there are other great TKD fighters out there. This wasnt supposed to be a style VS style thread thats why I put TKD n Mauy thai as a subject not tkd vs mauy thai. Please keep it this way.Thank you HaKUnA MaTaTA

Besides seeing the kick coming from a mile away, you open yourself up to so many attacks that its a technique that you should not be reliant on.His ego didnt make him lose- he was simply outclassed. Muay Thai fighters train for full contact striking matches where the idea is to beat your opponent to a pulp inside a few minutes- its fast, brutal, and hard on the body. You could see the difference in the conditioning between the fighters- the Thai fighter is conditioned to take hard shots to the legs and other parts of his body- the TKD fighter was not.TKD wasnt designed to do the same thing that Muay Thai was- now if you wanted to try to dismount someone on horseback, you'd have better luck with TKD than Muay Thai. IMO, trying to dismount someone on horseback with a flying kick is ridiculous. Flying kicks may hve been used to cover ground (or even to leap over obstacles) but to dismount a rider?? I'm a horserider and I'd like to see anyone try to take me off my horse with a flying kick. Even if I was stationary there would be little chance of it happening. The old "TKD is for knocking people off horses" thing is a bit daft IMO. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers! Dont call me Sir
The old "TKD is for knocking people off horses" thing is a bit daft IMO.I totally agree, though, during my 14 years of TKD, I was told by many high ranking Instructors/Officials that jumping kicks were for dismounting riders by labourers who were working in paddy fields. A load of 'toffee' if you ask me as you're better off giving the horse a right cross!!! DCMS. "There's nothing wrong with my defence, you attacked me wrong!"
