aefibird Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Subtract 5 and you get what other arts with 10 dans would give, since the difference is that those arts have 5 'skill' dan instead of 10. Subtracting 5 would make him an equivalent of a 9th Dan, which still sounds dodgy to me. Genuine 9th Dans are rare and don't tend to place flash ads in the Yellow Pages.... "Was it really worth it? Jiffy Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 Yeah it just doesn't seem right to me. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
TheAnimal Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 ...well it certainly seems right to the japanese government. haha, sorry... i just cant let that one go. too much.
ps1 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Tradition is what you make it. This system has 15 dan ranks. I'm not saying this guy is ligit, just that ranks are not a good method of judging. Train, or at least make contact with him first, then judge. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."

Roxor Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 14th degree blackbelt???? i dont really think it matters how high you are if your good, but yes that is exxcesive Technique is all that matters! NOT YOUR BELT!!
1st_degree_black Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 to tell ya the truth no body really know ninjutsu unless they train secretly in China cus there is only like one or two places that know it and theyre secret, and i dont think that there is a 14th dan.
patusai Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 To each style their own I suppose. If his students recognize the 14th dan more power to him. Someday, he may make it to 20th dan "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
