scad
break the kick down into segments, bring the leg up and pause, then extend and fold, then back down. if you do that its like programing your body, then once the kcik has great accuracy and snap, move to a weighted bag for the resistance, i did that with my backside kick and the results where insane, so give it a try. and don't use weight machines, they will only build usless muscles. nomatter what it be, will power and heart produces great things
Grimslade
Hello EveryoneI have a question that involves kicks and leg strength. I have the flexibility to do a side thrust kick well over my head, but it is the strength I need to work on.I was wondering if anyone had any exercises or ideas of what I could do. Should I just practice holding the kicks as high as I can or what?Thank you, Ncole_91Heavybag, I love heavybags "I am your judge, Executioner, jury, Executioner, lawyer, prosecutor, and if necessary... your Executioner"
ncole_91
Wow, there are a lot of exercises I can do, thanks for all the suggestions. I got the feeling a few people misunderstood my post.I am not really worrying about the Power of the Kick, but the strength in my leg. Like being able to slowly raise my leg out to side to me head or holding a kick up at head height.Again, thank you for all the comments and suggestions. Kicks
All good suggestions, but since you are asking about getting strong high kicks just remember that the higher you good you more power to lose. So don't get your hopes up of having head high kicks just as powerful as waist high kicks. Good luck with your training and I wish you success. when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
yamesu
I am not really worrying about the Power of the Kick, but the strength in my leg. Like being able to slowly raise my leg out to side to me head or holding a kick up at head height. In that case I recommend just holding your leg out as high as you can for as long as you can.IMO, holding it at waist height for ages wont actually help you with holding it at head height. Only holding it at head height will help with holding it at head height. Start off with only a second or two, and go from there.Good Luck. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents.
