tkdman102088 Posted January 31, 2006 Share Posted January 31, 2006 Does anyone know traditonal black belt rank titles for tae kwon do, im looking for the korean titles NOT first dan etc... martial arts may be made fun of by people who dont understand them---teach these people the true beauty and power of our arts and they will learn, understand, and remember for forever.---being a teacher is not just an honor its an experience that benifits not only the student but the instructor. ninjanurse Posted January 31, 2006 Share Posted January 31, 2006 At my former TKD school they were as follows:1st degree black=Cho Gyo Nim 2nd degree black=Bu Sa Bum Nim 3rd degree black=Sa Bum Nim 4th degree black=Bu Kwan Jang Nim 5th degree and up=Kwan Jang NimI do not know if these are universal to TKD or not. niel0092 Posted January 31, 2006 Share Posted January 31, 2006 I've seen Kwan Jang Nim for 4th degree and 5th but we'll use Sa Bum Nim for any instructor 3rd degree or below.
