GhostFighter
What is in ur opinion more important or will give the edge in a fight, muscles or fighting skills and why?So lets say you are forced in a fight against someone on the streets, would u rather have big muscles but no fighting skills or good fighting skills but normal body posture?IMO the muscle guy has these advantages:-Able to scare oppenents before the fight-Can take lots of punishment before going downMA fighter:-Knows what to and how to do it-Better stamina Everyday is a fight
vertigo
I would say anyone who has fighting experience/skill would be at a far better advantage in a fight than someone who just has muscles - strength isn't everything. An analogy:I know I certainly wouldn't be able to win a formula one race, just because I had the best car - without the skills to drive it, the car wouldn't be enough to make me win. SatyagrahaKF
Skill over muscle anyday!! That's a no-brainer. Seek not and you will find. -Lao Tsu
Mr. Mike
I don't believe that having muscles will enable a person to take more punishment. hit the right target and the poor sap drops regardless of who they are.skills anyday When a man's fortunate time comes, he meets a good friend; When a man has lost his luck, he meets a beautiful woman.-anonymous
AndrewGreen
Well, that depends...are they similar weight? How skilled is the MA fighter? What rules does he train under?Size + strength + skillthose are the things that win fights, Depends who's total is higher Andrew Greenhttp://innovativema.ca - All the top martial arts news! TheAnimal
HAHA! Ive seen one of these first hand in some amateur cage fights- a body building guy who walks out with a girl on each arm, and a somewhat fat black guy who apparently had a boxing background, who was initially boo'd by the audience. The bodybuilders punches were so slow it was pathetic, and the black guy whooped the ... out of him. I loved it!
TheAnimal
That isn't to say, however, that a martial artist with limited skill won't fall to a guy who has 75lbs of muscle more. I like to say: first rule of barfights- big guy wins; second rule, anything can happen.
Mr. Mike
So lets say you are forced in a fight against someone on the streetsthat should answer it for you. Again, just from the scenario posed, you can have muscle OR skill. Not equal talent, not somewhat equal talent...muscle OR skill. ...on the street, muscle doesn't protect your eyes, knees, elbows, groin, throat, etc.........get my point? this isn't for points in a cage. This is in a life or death(which is the only reason you should ever be 'forced' into a fight) situation, that will warrant winning BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!Bring your creatine bloated butt to the line. I walk away with my skills and my life.
