jaymac
I tend to agree with Traditonal Fist. I believe that their is a loss of the Traditional way in Martial Arts, but I know their are plenty of great Martial Art instructors out their Squall. After what you have gone through recently, I think that the offending instructor probably lost other students that evening also. I am glad you are ok. You will find a good school and a good instructor. Keep shopping around. Take trial classes at other schools to help your search. Good luck. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
bruceflea
Leave this class and find another, like other people have suggested. If you dread training then you are doing yourself no favours. Take your money and passion else where. Life is for living so dont worry and branch out. Good luck...i know how anoying those knuckleheads are...you can rise above that and take the advice offered, good luck!!! Be like water my friend!! nanfeishen
Unfortunately you seem to have found every egotistical twit in your area , i have been around martial arts for 22 years, and have encountered some huge ego's in some insructors, avoid them at all costs, they often do more harm than good, and the results are ill trained or arrogant students. As many of the previous postee's stated, move on and look around, but most importantly look at the students and see how the instructor treats them , if he doesnt respect his students, avoid his classes. A good instructor will always respect his students, and will therefore have his students respect him. Squall
first of all, thanks for the supportive responses, it's really nice to hear them. Thanks for the encouragement in a rough time. I'm going to take a looong time off, but I'm going to be heading to a nice traditional dojang when I'm ready to go back, the place looks good and I'm excited to be going. My former instructor should be calling soon, THAT should be interesting. thx again all!
