Ok, the grandmother of them all....

Are you ready?....

So you're a black belt huh?

Did you have to register your hands a lethal weapons with the FBI?

Response: No, blackbelt registration is now under the Department of Homeland Security.

Alternate response:

Man, you have been watching too much Happy Days (reference Ralph Malph stating "my hands are registered weapons....")

I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

Response: I hope they were the kind made out of rubber.

So that would explain your condition.

"You don't look like a black belt" I never thought that was necessary though.

If you do get this, just ask them "what does a someone with a black belt look like?"

The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.

I didn't look like the extremely athletic type. The other problem is that people watch too much TV.

Ha Ha, this is a funny thread. Most of the time, I try not to let people know that I have a black belt in Martial Arts or that I take Martial Arts at all, but sometimes they find out. I like, "I can't believe you are a Black Belt." My response is almost always, "Yeah, if you stay there long enough they have to give you one :karate: " Then I walk away. However, if they are interested at all, I give them a business card.

"Geez, I wouldn't want to meet you in a dark alley"

"My brothers, mothers, uncle used to do Jo-Blo's TKD"

"I've always wanted to do something like that, but never go around to it"

Those are the ones I usually get. But then again, usually, the only people who find out I study MAs are already friends/acquaintances/coworkers. If I don't know somebody reasonably well, or at least don't trust that they aren't looking for trouble, I don't even think about mentioning it.
