DokterVet Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 There are several counters for most holds and chokes.Be more specific.EDIT: Here is a site with many BJJ techniques. http://bjj.org/techniques/ Some escapes from the mount for example:http://bjj.org/techniques/intheguard/escapemount2/http://bjj.org/techniques/intheguard/escapemount1/ Like anything you have to train this stuff to make it work. 22 years oldShootwrestlingFormerly Wado-Kai Karate
Izzy331 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 what do you want to know? Its hard to explain by typping but wat do u want.
karate kid 1 Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 well many people seem to use leg locks FEAR is only a four letter wordRORY
TJS Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 too broad a question. Even if someone gives you a detailed explination of how to get out of a certain hold unless you are rolling alot and training it you proabably wont pull it off on someone who kows what they are doing.
AndrewGreen Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 There are hundreds of ways to choke a person, different counters are needed for different methods. How are you getting caught? Andrew Greenhttp://innovativema.ca - All the top martial arts news!
ovine king Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 this might sound like an obvious answer but if you want to learn how to defend against grappling, you pretty much have to learn to grapple. earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.
Jiffy Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 this might sound like an obvious answer but if you want to learn how to defend against grappling, you pretty much have to learn to grapple.Definately. We used to have a saying in BJJ. "To learn is to tap". For those who don't understand: When someone gets a good lock/choke/hold-dwon on us, we tap for submission. By losing, you learn what you did wrong and it sticks in your mind. So in short, if you want to learn to grapple, train with someone in grappling that can make you work for a while then get you to tap. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
