cleung Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 According to another martial arts website, former top karate competitor Stuart Quan suddenly passed away this week at age 42. This is very shocking news and so far, details are sketchy. Apparently, he passed out in the back seat of a car during a trip back from a snowboarding trip.I had the pleasure of training with him for a private forms session about 12 years ago at his studio in Fresno, California. He will be missed. ClintFree Spirit Martial Arts Activewearhttp://www.FreeSpiritActivewear.com
patusai Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Very young age. I am not familiar with him. I assume ke competed in kumite type stuff. I am always concerned and wonder when/ why a MA dies at a young age. Was it something in the training, some contact received in the kumite or just that some people die young. My condolences. backfist Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I remember Quan in local tournaments (in the SF Bay Area). He used to perform an open kata to the theme of Enter the Dragon. So Many Masters; So Few Students
