How do I use the Nunchaku?

against knives, and other weapons?

A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.

A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.

i might not know karate or jkd, but i do know how to use nun chucks very well, simply slide the chain part across the blade, and snatch the nun chuck forward, it takes pratice but can be done, diffrent lenght takes diffrent spots to grab on the chain. the chain can also be used to strangle people, or if u got aluminum nun chucks u can use the aluminum part and slap the knife out their hand insted of the chain itself.

i want to take my skill's of nun chucks and learn karate to go along with it or something, but i have been doing nun chucks for along time.

hit the hand, don't try disarms, usually you get cut trying, just hit the hand and they will drop the knife if that is what you want to achieve.

Against most weapons nunchaku come up short, they are fairly short range and flexible weapons in general lack the response time of solid weapons. If you miss or get blocked, you are in trouble, not to mention blocking with them is a pain.

And just remember, your chances of having a knife pulled on you are about the same as winning the p0owerball. The chance that you are carrying your nunchucku at that exact same moment are about the same as winning the powerball twice. The knife is usually legal and the chucks rarely are. If you practice this do it with a padded chuck for a demo. but....

I was on the Santa Monica pier the other day (12-27-05) if ya saw me. anyway, I saw a couple of cops on the boardwalk and they were carrying chucks, Right where the "tonfa" used to be. I was freaked and asked the cop about them. He said that there are about 20 officers in his sqaud that are trained in them and that you have a lot of traing to do before they let you loose with them. He echoed what I have taught all along, that they are not a perfect striking weapon, but they are good for lock and submissions. Later I noticed another officer with them too. Being from arizona I know this isn't happening here yet, but those californians, they are so up to date huh???

I have a demo team and we feature chucks in part of my team however, it's just flash, and gets the crowd roared up. take care.[/i]

So does that mean that if I carry nun chucks in my pocket for the use of self defence, wil I get arrested?

How can Nun chucks be illegal? or arent they?

I hope they arent

Depends on where you are, in some places you aren't allowed to own them. In most places you will probably get in trouble for carrying them around.

Are they allowed for self defence in the UK or do you need a liscence?

i don't know man, but this is what i can't understand. Guns are legail and nun chucks are not! thats wrong, a gun can kill a person faster then chucks, and guns are used to kill, nun chucks are used for defence..

so thats one reason i can't have them in my car, but i can have a pistal..... :dodgy: don't make sense...
