Here's what they listed as the top 10 martial arts in the world:

10. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu- wrestling/joint locks

9. Kali- stick fighting

8. Krav Maga- military/weapons defense

7. Tae Kwon-Do- way of kicking and punching

6. Aikido- force and motion art/samurai

5. Juko-Kai- combat ki/taking hits

4. Ninjutsu- way of the ninja/stealth

3. Muay Thai Kickboxing- training shin kicks

2. Karate- everyone knows what this is, Japanese way of open fist

1. Shaolin Kung Fu- a style of gung fu, ah yeah, a Chinese martial art... monks with weapons using chi

There you have it according to TLC... the one that interested me the most was Juko-Kai, those guys could take hits anywhere and not even care.

Yes I saw most of it. Again I though it was a bit built up with all th talk about Ki and Chi. I thogh it made better TV than being correct in that reguards. Im sorry I jsut don't buy that Combat Ki stuff.

Yeah, I've seen it. Looked like they did alot of research for that show. TLC is great. Juko-Kai must take alot of training. Awesome how they can take a shot to the groin and not even make a face. OUCH!!!

Id rather take more time trianing to block than take a shot like that.

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

A shot to the groin  sounds sooooo painful. I wonder how you train for that because if you get it wrong the first time you probably won't be practicing that one anymore.

I wonder what the criteria was upon which these martial arts were rated. In my opinion and experience with training for a few years, Shaolin kung fu definitely deserves a spot near the top if not right at 1st place (even though currently I love to practice taekwondo and modern wushu), but obviously many others will have different opinions. Were the martial arts rated by thoroughness, being a complete system (i.e. covering everything from weapons to grappling to basics, etc.), being the most effective in practical combat, and/or having the richest history, etc.? Anyways I was just wondering about that, hehehe.

Yeah, I saw a few of them. The seperate ones, and then the ranking.

They didn't really give the scoring used to rank them.

I'm with shotochem. Yes, the ability to take those blows was impressive. However, you would have to suck pretty bad to get hit, while standing, from four directions in the neck at the same time...in the real world. I was more impressed with the akido portion.
