Shorin-Ryu Karateka Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 The only real things that get me scared are something happening to my wife and kids that I have no control of. If he practices 3 times, I must practice 6 times -- Osensei Nagamine
Kieran-Lilith Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Hmmm...serious fears....betrayal, bad things happening that I can't stop and can't run from, choices going bad.Not so serious fears....the opposite gender (I'm hopelessly shy, it seems), failure, nightmares, and myself, if that makes any sense. He who gains a victory over other men is strong; but he who gains a victory over himself is all powerful Lao-tsu
Jeet Kune Do Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 The only thing I am scared of is Spiders, If I see one big one like this:http://ipmofalaska.homestead.com/files/wolfspider.jpgI doubt even my Martial arts would save me from dying of fright, but I would throw a brick at it to kill it or some other weapon A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
jaymac Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The only thing I am afraid of is spiders. Serious, sick to my stomach fear. Jeet kun do, have you ever seen the picture of the bird eating spider of australia. It is as big as a dinner plate. I would cry if i ever saw that thing for real. There is no reason for a spider to be that big. None. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
karatekid1975 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Spiders?? Snakes?? Na. I pick up spiders by their legs, and I have picked up a snake (non-venimous) to get it out of the house because my man freaked. How it got there, donno. I think the poor thing was more scared of me than anything else LOL.Critters don't scare me. But one thing of nature does. Lightning *shivers*. I don't fear snakes, but I will hide under the bed if I see lightning. Well, I'm not that bad now, but I WILL NOT go outside or sit near a window during a storm. Reason is, I almost got struck by lightning INSIDE a house. I almost got struck as a kid outside also.Just talking about it gives me the creeps ..... Laurie F

I think I went back in the house for the rest of that storm My fears - heights!! I don't know why - but I have always had this fear of heights.... although I can somewhat control it, if the experience is really worth it (Going up the Eiffel Tower was cool) - so at least that's better than nothing. If that happened to me then I would run into the kitchen, get a knife and commit suicideMan why are spiders made?why could'nt there be something else like...............the saber tooth tiger? But instead, the saber tooth is extinct and the spiders still creep the world A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
