stonecrusher69 Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 I also study Wing Chun and wing chun traditionaly and I saw traditionaly don't use any belt ranking system, but there is of course a way to know where you are at and wherea nother student is at.There is either you a jonior and senior students. If you are only there for say 6 mounts and only learned the first hand form you a begginer. If your on the 3rd form then your an andvance stundent because only someone who has matered the basics and has reached a fairly high level should be training this form. http://www.youtube.com/user/sifumcilwrath"When the student is ready the master will appear"

Tamojin Posted June 30, 2003 Posted June 30, 2003 At my 7 start mantis school we have yellow, green and black sashes - thats all. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless--like water.
jmd161 Posted July 12, 2003 Posted July 12, 2003 In my style of Black Tiger everyone wears a black sash, but it has no rank value at all. It's the color sash chosen for the school.Like Iron Arahat said earlier the respect is gained thru sparring and training. Also by the time you joined the school.Someone that joined before you is always shown respect as a sihing (big brother). At my old school we did have ranking sashes. white red blue green yellow black There was ten levels of black. jeff The Basics Are The Hidden Secret To Kung Fu Master The Basics.
