Sho-ju Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Anyone study the cane?Any suggestions on DVD's or online video I can peek at?
Sensei Rick Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I love the cane. It's the only weapon you can still take on a plane, and get on there first. As for formal study, I have seen a video or two. I would not use such. Adapt techniques from other weapons like tonfa. combine techniques from a straight weapon with that of a hooking weapon. I'm sure some smart guy on the forum will go on late night TV and steal this idea and make up some CANE style. Tae cane do or how about Jeet cane do. I've got y a started, now you can proceed. place clever martial arts phrase here

scottnshelly Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 My Instructor showed me a few moves with a cane. I’ve been playing around with it ever since. There are a lot of things that one can do with a cane. The hardest part for me is finding someone willing to let me try to new locks and strikes with it. Like Sensei Rick mentioned, you can adapt techniques that you already know for use with the cane.
