johnnymac
Bum fights is a horrid site..they degrade other human beings! That is true, but it's still the real thing when it comes to combat. kreza
I've seen Bum Fights, felt terrible for laughing at some of it, but the fights are real ones, and worse, usually no-one breaks them up. Reminds me a bit of that scene in Dazed & Confused. shotokan all the way, baby
Ace2021
I've watched Bumfights, funny how all of those fights ended up on the ground, except the one when this kid was kicked in the temple..and they were both standing up, pretty crazy..he was probably in martial arts, nonetheless it was a One-Hit-KO. I've been in a real fight like in bumfights where situational awareness did save me.The guy started punching wildly, I stepped back, and roundhoused his thigh, causing him to fall and hit his head (not what I planned). So Karate or any martial arts can be effective in a streetfight (as long as the guy you're fighting doesn't have a gun). If his friends jump in...make like Bruce Lee.. gateqway
have anybody seen kids fight? it's pretty similar, except the fact that they are weak and slower lol Most people’s compassion and kindness are bounded by threats of their interest. People respond to irritancies will dire actions and speech, which is magnified by grudge, competitiveness and fear.
bushido_man96
I am not sure I would try to clinch with someone if I knew his buddies were around, or take him to the ground. Something about being attacked when I can't see them, and while I am on the ground.Maybe it is different if you have more ground fighting experience, but I would not feel comfortable with it. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Yasutsune Makoto
Remember, idealistically, that when you introduce karate you make it a life or death situation. So against someone so untrained they just flail their arms about, do you really need to fight them at all? Odds are you can use your other skills to end it...like let them break their fist on your head. lol. Seriously though, most people stop fighting when they know they lost, and you can convince someone they lost without even hitting them. Shui Tora
This is where you have to learn to move your body out of the attack line (instead of going linear)Personally, I would an inside block (so that their body would be closed from the arm that they are using to attack wtih), a counter to the ribs using a knee or gyaki-zuki (hitting a good pressure point ) and then tell them to go home... If they still persist, then put them into an arm lock or a leg lock; although an arm lock would be safer Its all about getting yourself out of the way from the line of attack; dealing with it and then walking away... One of my friends used a kata to deal with such an attack (she was using the first three moves of Heian Nidan) and it worked, after that; she had put him in an arm lock and called the police... Naturally he got "done" for assult on a women... To know the road ahead; ask those coming back... ~ Chinese Proverb" The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.
