Shrekka
Woah, that is a LOT of Kata for each grade. How long does it take students to go from one grade to the next?

b3n
Yeah that really is a huge amount of kata to learn. I've seen worse though. My Nidan Grading! Kaminari
I don't think I could list all the kata we learn in my style. I think most of the black belts in my class know anywhere from 30-45 kata, and sensei knows around 65, I think. Seito Shito-Ryu is widely known for it's number of kata. Nidankid23
That is quite a lot of katas. My style averages at about 2-3 katas per rank. Incidentally it takes an average amount of time to promote to the next rank (6 months). ddavis
Hayashi Ha Shito-Ryu has 63 kata's, of these I train 40 of them. From what I have read, Kenwa Mabuni taught 70 Kata's and he train 99 Kata's, some were his own Kata's.David David DavisJust because you like my stuff doesn't mean I owe you anything.Bob Dylan
