shotochem Posted April 7, 2002 Posted April 7, 2002 Combat KI..... I dont think so ....Wouldnt it be a little more beneficial to block and hit back than to just take it???? I dont get it There is no way Im gonna let anyone hit me that way, those guys are NNNNNNUTS!!!! (no pun intended) Its just not for me..... Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
G95champ Posted April 7, 2002 Author Posted April 7, 2002 I agree that is what gives Karate a bad name. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Taikudo-ka Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 "There is no way Im gonna let anyone hit me that way..." But supposing someone does, in fact, hit you "that way", despite all your best efforts to stop them... wouldn't it be better to have trained to take the blow and minimize the damage, however they do it, rather than just getting an unexpected pain...? G95champ Posted April 8, 2002 Author Posted April 8, 2002 Its much like these guys you see ridding skateboards down stairs. Sure once you know how its fine and maybe fun. But how in the heck do you learn how without getting hurt? I assume you can because I have saw people do it n TV but I also saw Luke Skywalker pick up a ship as well on TV once. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
