HI MY FRIENDS!! HOW ARE YOU?? THIS TIME, AFTER A LONG TIME LOOKING FOR A MARTIAL ART FOR ME, I COME HERE WITH THIS MARTIAL ARTS, AND ALL THAT ARE NEAR MY HOME. I HAVE TO DECIDE AND CHOOSE ONE OF THEM. WHICH MARTIAL ART WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR ME? MI IDEA IS TO BE A GREAT STREET FIGHTER. I HOPE YOUR ANSWERS. BYE!!

I think that the best sport is football (soccer) because is a wonderful game but the best sport (to do and feel oneself better) is any martial arts :)

Based upon what you have told us, I would like to ask a few question before telling you what is a good art to study.

1. Why do you want to street fight? This term you are using "street fighter" is it for the means of self defense, or are you going out looking for fights/getting paid to fight?

2. What is fueling this ambition of yours?

3. Have you personally gone to these dojo's before? Have you told them what you want?

Whether you answer my question or not, any martial art will be good in self-defense (some have their advantages such as ground work and grappling, other are stricking striking arts). However, you must realize the best way to win a street fight, is to not be there. Think I speak follish? Can you stop bullets? Most street fights are always ended with someone dying. Can you carry that on your shoulders? Do you realize the responsiblitie you carry when you learn these arts?

I think before you go off and study anything, you need to ask yourself why you're doing this. I feel a sence of "movie-fiction" behind your post.

I don't have to be the best, just better than you!

when i talk about "street fight" i mean self defense only. I tried to avoid the word "self defense" because some guy told me before that self defense is also "running and escaping from the problem". I only want to do a martial art in order to defense myself against street fighters, that there are a lot in mi city. And i dont want to avoid the problem, i want to Confront the problem, like a real man. I hope your answer, and remember that i have to choose any of this martial arts for self defense against street fighters or thieves.

Well, the person who told you that running is self defense is correct. Removing yourself or running from a bad situation doesn't make you any less of a man. If anything, it's makes you the bigger man. Many martial arts if used and taught effectively can be deadly. By you showing restraint and walking away, you are the bigger man. Example:

Someone starts a fight with you for no reason in a bar. Instead of putting up your dukes, ask to by him a drink. Apologize for whatever happened, whether it's your fault or not. Hopefully this will make them happy, and you have just won the situation and are the bigger man.

Now... if this happens:

Someone comes up to you with a gun, asking for your wallet, give them your wallet. You're not match for a gun.

If that same someone was to tell you that they're going to have their way with you, then your loved one that you're with, it's time to use force, even deadly if needed. It's my belief that when put into danger that can be seen as deadly, then deadly force is permitted. If someone is going to hurt my loved one, I'm going down swing. A famous saying here is it's better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

I would say to check out Brazilian JJ or Muay Thai. Both are excellent striking arts, and will get you into great shape if the time ever came to use force. Welcome to the forums and good luck with your studies! :)

I always say "A good run is better than a bad stay"

I have a slightly different variation on this theme. I ask if I can buy the guy a drink but I also order one for myself. I make sure my drink is a beer and it's in a "mug". This is only so I can have a weapon if he doesn't comply. :)
